My altar is honoring the tradition in Michoacan Mexico of celebrating Dia de los Muertos as the gathering of the souls of our loved one carried on the breath of the Monarch butterfly. Given the remarkable migration journey of the Monarch I have reached out to friends and family across the country…and the world, to send me photographs of their loved ones and a short memory to share. These images and stories cloak my altar Goddess in a rich tapestry of love and community and shared experience.

Memories fade…these people will be lost to the world, at some point. This is my attempt to keep them alive, their stories, what they meant to us. This is the Art of Remembrance.
